Community and Voluntary Sector in the East End of Newcastle upon Tyne

In 1999 the East End Community and Voluntary Sector Forum (EECVSF) was established by the voluntary sector group of the East End Partnership. It now acts as one means for the community and voluntary sector's views on regeneration issues to be represented to partnerships and key decision makers. In early 2005 EECVSF entered into an alliance with Healthworks East, a community based development organisation committed to the empowerment of local residents through an employment training scheme and local groups through an activities development fund. The alliance is known as the East End Community Development Alliance (EECDA). Working together will enhance the effectiveness of both EECVSF and Healthworks East by releasing resources for the growth of each.
